Two ATC'S

 For mixed media monday I made 'Songbird' Using papers,lace,inks and a little musical bird from my Dezinaworld collage sheet

The second atc is one i made just for fun with collage image from my collection placed on a background which is just drawn and embossed swirls and leaves and random embossed sprinkles.

1/ As a child I spent most of my time reading and believing in fairies, I used to collect rose petals and add them to water to make 'fairy perfume'

2/ I am a bit of a workaholic in the mental sense. My brain doesn't rest easily yet my body is happy too lol.

3/ I was once addicted to cucumber and would slice and eat one to two cucumbers a day - when i took iron supplements the craving disappeared ( it took two years to find that out )

4/ I was named in the top 100 poets of 2006 by a writing and poetry publishers and website.

5/ My Three favourite places are Paris (city) Northumberland coast (sea and scenery ) Teesdale (the most underrated countryside)

Art on the darkside - Halloween

Meikoningin as many of you know is doing a wonderful job of hosting the Darkside blog. I am thrilled as i can no longer manage everything and both Meikoningin and Jeanette (art freebies ) are doing fabulous work. Brave men of history

 Feeling in a decidedly unpretty kind of creative mode, i tackled a very male subject with this 4 x 4 for the challenge of it. Its a beeswax,ink and silver collage - depicting a cavalier,boxer and another man plus lots of red which is a very dominant and in my view male colour and siver highlights. I hope i havent frightened everyone away with my art today

Its been a while

 Hi all, i seem to have hit a slow down in creativity here and havent done much lately. I am trying to heal right now so all my energies are used up between that and my graphics work at dezinaworld blog. However i did make this piece whic what done in two parts, the background i made about a week ago and then i finished it today. Its a 4 x 4 and uses textured paper,wooden embellishment, stamping and chipboard plus inks,rub in oil colours etc

 Fliss is one amazing lady, have you seen what talent she has yet ? All you need to do is visit Flissy's blog here

New piece of work

I havent been very forthcoming with art lately but all of my friends who know me, know why but have been taking my time on this piece of work and all because one of my lovely friends .. Hilda :) helped me out with this beeswax collage idea. Thanks Hilda my friend, I have had a lot of fun with it.

Lots to do - watercolour

 I dont often get time to add to challenges but i did this simple atc for the Lots to do challenge which this week is watercolours
This one is a stamped image painted with watercolours. On the bottom part where its darker blue i used my finger to give a more blotchy dabbed effect then i have added some pen on the wand and sparkles and added some spritz colour with glimmer mist spray and some mica silver and sealed with hairspray lol

My special friends, hugs and Alzheimers

 I recieved a very special award from a very special friend of mine the other day. This award was given to me by Jude who 'just knows' when i am in need of something like this. Jude is one amazing, kind and wonderful lady. She is caring and a dear friend. We met through crafting and have had some fun ( not enough but i am sure as the years go by we will have even more fun ) Her roots are in my home town and Judes parents still live here too. Jude and I share another special bond, both our mothers have Alzheimers desease. Judes mam is in a home and is in a much later stage than my own but we both understand the heartbreak the desease causes to all involved. If you check out Judes Blog You will see that she is currently asking for help with crafty things for an appeal to help those ladies in the home that need something nice to spend time on. Go check it out for details please.
I hope you will all pop over there and here is my hug which I would like to give FIRST back to Jude for being there for me and SECOND to all the other ladies especially Susan who have kept my spirits up this year at my crafting forum. These ladies are more than friends ... like Jude, i think of them as FAMILY

atc & 4 x 4 & Tag

 crafting these has helped take my mind off my back pain. I sat in the garden with a tray on my knee and had my hubby at my beck and call hehe ... should do this more often lol.
Anyway here are a 4 x 4 called Desire  & a little bird collage both use mixed media in buckets lol
Also a tag inspired by Fliss who has this fabulous technique with white embossing and this was my first attempt its not brilliant but turned out quite a nice tag - thanks Fliss my friend and thanks to cheryl for the leaf which i have altered

What i did in the summer

Susie has a fab challenge at her blog & today i worked on this collage finishing it off to include pieces i actually made over the summer plus the background which i also made this summer. I have made a collage piece with them all in and hope that its suitable for the challenge which is here

Still hurting

Oh heck a funny old day ...

 Well today i went for a day trip to the seaside with my parents and sister. Before setting off though, I managed somehow to pull my back out and set off some nasty pain in my back and hips which have been really ok for a long while ... how i manage these things is beyond me, all i did was go to step in the blinkin shower :(  - Anyway, i wasnt going to let it stop me and hobbled to the car, hobbled around Redcar and was dearly tempted to sit on mams knee in her wheelchair lol. It was a lot of fun but the weather was overcast but hey !!! who needs the weather when you have good company - My camera was charged and ready to go but never got used.

My latest creative effort was this encaustic wax collage using various papers,vintage image,encaustic wax in clear and silver and some mica pigments and inks.

Autumn Thoughts

Thoughts of autumn via the subtle change in the weather must have been the inspiration for these pieces,

Thanks & Arty stuff

 Thanks everyone for your kind words . I am still in my comp break and only switch on once a day to check emails etc. Have been playing with my craft stuff and will continue to do that. Also actually watched a bit of tv ( never usually do lol ) and went for day out to a local bank holiday show. So the break is going well. I have set up dezinaworld with post dated posts but other than that i havent done much at all. I thought i might share one of my makes today though, while i am here and also a poem i wrote. I hope you enjoy them
