Palette knife texture
I fancied trying something out with the 3d paints i have stored in my craft stash that i never use. They have a nozzle for use which i decided to take off and just use the paint direct with a palette knife and see what it turned out like. I enjoyed this and quite like the effect considdering its my first attempt ever. Lots to learn but really worth it i feel.
Here are the pics.
The first one is a portrait type face on a 4 inch (approx ) square of card stock. The second is an atc which i have called ' Yellow flowers '

Autumn inspired
A walk at a nature reserve inspired me today with this atc and also did two spanish atc's on a background i made from twinkling h2'o's yesterday.
New Stamp Inspired this one
Inspired by my new Eiffel Tower stamp. I love Paris its one of my fave places in the world and would really love a stamp of Notre Dame but guess it aint as popular as the Eiffel
Yesterday I joined my new art group and already have been asked for demonstrations on paper crafts so will treat them gently but hope to convert to atc making ...
Here is the new one

Red Feather Art Award
Once again i have been on the look out for particularly striking art. Fresh work by exciting artists and again have found one or two that have been outstanding but none better than this one which is an atc by 'Rustycage' aka Deb see Debs blog HERE What I liked about this most was the colour and effect of the background which enhances a very simple image and makes the whole thing extraordinary. I also got in really quickly and managed to snag it for a swap ( yayyyyyyyy !! ) so looking forward to adding this one to my collection. So here we have this weeks Red Feather Award winning art work - Well done Deb !! Please leave me a comment for this artist and please point me in the direction of other fabulous art work that you may have seen so i can take a look

Group Art
For absolutely ages i have looked for a local town group with similar interests to mine and finally i have found one. In fact it was pretty much by accident and it was while i was having my hair cut that i met someone who knew someone .... i am sure you know how it goes. Anyway I will join them mid week and see what it is like but its pretty good because they are looking for some new ideas, new blood and something a little different from basic water colours, acrylics and such so i shall be introducing them to atc's, embossing etc as they havent heard of it .... oh what fun !!!! hehehe
Other than that , this week has been really busy for me and not a lot of crafting or art searching going on so i shall post just these three atc's and hope to bring you a new 'Red Feather' award winner a bit later this week

I really find crafting so expensive when i want to try out new things and i fancied some of that gorgeous alcohol ink background look ... you seen it ??? Anyway its far too expensive for me to start collecting at a tenner a time for the inks and of course all the other bits and bobs so i decided to make my own budget version and i reckon they didnt turn out to shabby :) what do you think ? please leave me a comment and also take a look at how i made them on my other blog here

Embossing a Scene
This is my very first attempt at this but i love embossing so much and have had a good years love affair with the art hehe :) so i wondered how easy it was to create a complete scene using just inks, embossing pen, powders and stamp pad. As i currently only have one embossing pen in clear i decided to try a snow scene first.
I began with an atc sized card in navy blue and then stamped straight from the pad randomly up the card from bottom of the atc. I then used the pen to fill in the details and embossed in white. Then i added small details like the little house and trees in the background and embossed again. I used a tiny amount of brown to make these stand out. To enhance the snowy mounds i highlighted parts (or low lighted hehehe ) in a powder mix of lilac, white & miscellaneous spills which i keep for just such things.
Here is my EMBOSSED SNOW DREAM
