I just had to have a play with the wonderful image that Jeanette added to soartful this week for the challenge. It was fun thanks jeanette. I added babies, an extra chair and a rocking horse so my parlour became a nursery

One Song

Thanks to Chris I had a chance to play with the wonderful material of cork. This is a kind of cork sheet and i cut to atc size and stamped and embossed and brayered plus added touches of white gel pen and some small gems.
It is designed to go with a poem i wrote in 2006 called :

'One Song' (c) J.macfarlane

One song rises from within the morning forest

A beautiful solo aria carried upon the breeze

Sweet clear notes, like tiny bells beneath the rain

call out her joy of another painted dawn.

Soon her voice is answered by another timid soul

joining her in gleeful celebration of nature's gifting.

Quiter creatures sigh their own softness of sound

creating a cantata as the love of a new day is born

One voice rises from withing the morning forest

Just one song bursting with joy brings a whole choir of hope.

Winter memories and dreams

 Lol I am not with it today, i swear i am sure i have early onset alzheimers ... my mother was not so much older than i before she had it diagnosed :(  .. I just posted this on my art freebies blog by mistake lol. Anyway here is what i wanted to share with you ....

Winter Bride

 Winter Bride was created for the Theme thursday challenge
I wanted winter but without the normal trappings, I hope you like it. Its a mixed media collage using alcohol inks,glitter white mica, acrylic wash,fun flock and silvery snakeskin paper plus vintage image which i coloured lightly in white and pink on her cheeks

Lots to do - brights

I made this for the lots to do challenge which is brights ... i began by making the wings which are bright but then the rest of the colouring bacame more subtle so i whitened it a bit more for a brighter look ... lol hope it fits

Copper butterfly on pink tinted texture - m-m-m

I made this textured copper butterfly piece today using mixed media textures and colourings. Including tissue,copper pieces,pva,textured bead gel, pink and gold mica,pens,paints & copper powder. The butterfly was first stamped then coloured and curled slightly and then mounted with double sided tape. The texture is better seen if you click the piccy

chipboard shape collage

This is a chipboard shape that i   painted in acrylic and collaged with many elements and inked and then finished in glaze plus i added a beaded tail detail made using crystal and pearl beads plus a handmade bead i made ages ago - The background is acrylic and crackle glaze plus stamped in red stazon. I hope everyone is well and had a good weekend

Autumn Lights

A rare hour to craft produced these two atc's - one with image collage using ribbons and stamps and a silver buckle  and the other is a mixed media piece i made called Autumn Lights. I enjoyed getting inky and playing again

A Gift from Denmark

Hi all, I had a wonderful surprise this week just when i needed it. The postie brought me something very special all the way from Denmark. This gorgeous piece of art from my lovely new friend Dorthe, who makes extraordinary art.Dorthe made this exquisite hanger using one of the images from my Dezinaworld blog.  She made me a beautiful gift of it which i will treasure. Thanks so much my dear friend.

Autumn Chelsie

 I wanted to join in this fab blog challenge for autumn colours at Incywincy designs
I used this beautiful little chelsea  girl design from the selection of digi stamps there and teamed it up with an autumn background from my own blog Dezinaworld blog  (the autumn selection will be out soon ) I think it looks quite nice together and it was nice to craft a little after a couple of bad days. I hope you like it too
