Grunge page 5

This one is called vintage memories
The background was stamped with crackle effect stamp onto damp photocopy paper using distress ink (walnut stain ) then i distressed it more with some antique linen and then wet it again. I dried and attached to the grunge board and worked from there.the photo is not great as there was not much light.

I am getting there with the Grunge book pages. I need to make ten in all and this is number 4
this one is called 'create your dreams' I created this one using a few different kinds of techniques and materials. inks,glue, a tinfoil wrapper (recycled choc teacake wrapper ) for texture. alcohol inks, mica pigment, spray mists, and more. Its definitely grungy lol but i wanted texture and i wanted the ballet dancers as the dream.

this is my first page which is entitled Wish you were here - Image from my Dezinaworld beach collage set. I also used distress inks and some old tags etc

Also I made this from my new tag set at Dezinaworld This one was really easy i just added more colour and some ribbon and raffia and it was done

Art room hanger

This is a double sided hanging piece i made using a little slide mount that my friend Jude included in her wonderful christmas gift to me. I added two tiny images back to back ,i alcohol inked the frame then added stickles (icicle) to sparkle it.I added the lovely metal corners that i got from my lovely friend Hilda a while back and I filled the aperture with the images with 3d clear gloss the dried (one side at a time of course) I glued some old costume jewellery at the bottom and ribbon to the top.

Beer mats to coasters

I needed some new coasters so what better than old beer mats to start with.
I used a collage background from a set i created for Dezinaworld (the background set is called Backgrounds Deluxe and will be launched next month ) I printed it off twice and covered both sides of the beer mat. I distressed the edges slightly with metallic rub in colour in green and copper and then used Glossy accents over the whole of both sides to give a varnished look.

Snowdrops & a freebie

Hi everyone. I know its intermittent when i post on here but am definitely doing more crafting these days. Two New for the New Year

Happy New Year everyone. I thought i would pop by and post some new pieces i made. I am determined to get more crafting done this year than i did last. These two are a gothic arch with a kitty theme on embossed card which was distressed and then silver outlined in places. Pens also add the finishing touches to the lady image. and a twinchie (two inch square ) which was based on metal and metalic markers background using pva glue to seal and then finished off with siver metalic memory tape.I wanted to bring old vintage image together with a modern metalic look.

Broken ATC

Hi all, well i had a little time this morning and decided not to fill it in with stuff that 'needed doing' but instead decided to do something i wanted to do. Now my crafting stuff is all so deep in the cupboard and no room to breath in there that i can't find many materials or rather i don't fancy digging in there to find inspirational materials. Sooo All i have available at the moment are, pens, papers,inks and stamps. I wasnt in the mood for stamping so made a collaged atc instead using materials i had cut out from magazines etc. This one is called 'Broken'

I do hope everyone is ok and having a great pre-Christmas time. I have a few health issues as you may already know but am ok and working through them. I will hopefully get back later and comment on blogs and hopefully catch up a bit with my blogging friends.

Hi all, I have been busy with graphics lately so not made a lot of art either physical or digital as you can see. I do however have a new blog which acts as a relief from both as i dont make anything special for it, just add old pieces of art,poetry and general daily stuff as well as personal photo's etc. its on my Dezinaworld addy/handle so i dont get to see my old friends much over there so would you do me a favour if you havent already ? please add to follow me at the new on UNWRAPPING MY HEART then I will be able to keep up with my good blogging buddies more as i am often over there working on Dezinaworld and things. I will still be posting here but until i get a bit more time to play, its not that often and ....... I miss you ..... (sob!! sob !! )

Lol well the title mainly is about my lack of creativity for ever so long. well thats not strictly true. I have just been so busy creating digitally and getting over a trapped nerve that it seems like my physical art is so lapsed that i wonder sometimes if i am ever going to make something. well today I did !! In fact I began an album for my mothers birthday in December but it needs a lot more work yet. But also made this 4x4 mixed media collage. ... woohoo !!! it felt sooo good to create.

Two for the weekend

Hi all, I know i am not posting too much on here lately, just busy with my Dezinaworld blog. I have had time though to play a little this last few days and one of the things i really wanted to do was a piece for the Digital whisper challenge, The love Kimmie gave is the gorgeous flowery background to play with and the above image is what i made .. its very whimsical which was a nice thing to do. Christmas Belle and a new personal blog

Hi everyone, I am so pleased to be creating for fun again. I am starting to get busy with the bling for christmas decor and will share pics when i am done. Also I have a new personal blog where i will be sharing all kinds of stuff, not just art. Finally I create & prizes for everyone

Hi everyone, I finally was able to createone small item. Over the last 6 weeks or more i have been struggling with arm pain and couldn't create at all. Now I am able to work for a short while without too much pain so i am on the mend i think :) So here is my atc which i created for one of my favourite inspirational challenges the Lots to do challenge,
Background is designed using different autumnal colour inks and then I used a black vines and bird silhouette stamp and layered on the top of that, some die cut leaves which were sprayed with cosmic shimmer in 3 colours.
Oh and please pop by my Dezinaworld as i am doing a challenge there where EVERYONE WINS. its a papercraft challenge and each person that enters gets a prize. Have a lovely week everyone.

Hello everyone, I havent been around for the last month or so due to a trapped nerve in my neck which has caused me a lot of pain and stopped me from using my computer very much at all. Its still not better yet but i am getting there, slowly ..

Hi All, well I know i havent posted for a short while but I have been very busy with my digital work and not really had time to craft but hopefull it will change soon as I have just purchased a big shot to inspire me and also some fimo clay. Neither of these are things i have used before so i will look forward to playing :)
I had a lovely surprise today in the post as i recieved a postcard from wayyyyyyyyy across the world in South Africa from my lovely online friend Denise. I have met some of the most wonderful friends online through blogging and each of you are precious to me. I cant believe how wonderful it is to have so many caring and kind friends from all corners of the world. So a huge THANK YOU is in order to each of you .... I feel blessed.

Back to my roots

Its been a while since I really got back into my mixed media painting and collage so today i had a really good time with these pieces. All are atc size.Using paints and inks and gel mediums was bliss.Isnt it funny we allways want to move with the times and use all the latest products and mediums but in the end its what we enjoy the most that counts .... getting paint and inks and other messy stuff is what i do best so from now on i shall try to remember that.

Hi all, this is a quick post, i am shattered after a long day but wanted to come and post my card for the haunted design house challenge
Image is from Tiddly Inks and I used sharpies to colour and added some little eyes to the hear leaves so they looked to be peeking out too. Background layer is cosmic shimmer sprays. I created the text and inked and punched the hearts and coloured.Added a beautiful ribbon and that was it.

Painted white with acrylics
image added then smeared with thin white acrylic
Randomly edged in white ink and then embossed in white and silver mix

Lots to do - fairies or angels

Hi all well I went for the interview at a place where you paint pottery and help people to paint their own, children and adults. The guy wanted someone artistic ... I was thrilled at the thought of working there as it suited my disabilities i thought. Until i got there and apparently the job was not only in the pottery section but it involved, cooking, cleaning, helping out with childrens parties, office work, promotion and apparently keeping the staff in order. all for £6.00 an hour.... and there were stairs up to the cafe bit which is one thing i cant do. So guess who refused the job ? Yep ... aww well it was not my dream job after all.

Clay distressed buttons and beads

Well its been a while since i made anything at all but was inspired to join in the challenge a Lots to do
I had a little play with some rough (unwhitened ) air drying clay and made these distress look buttons and beads. The camera doesnt do them much justice as they are painted brighter than they look with a metallic cream over the top in antique metallics. I wanted them to look distressed and think i achieved that much. I am pretty pleased considering its my first play with clay of any kind.

Another journal page

This is another page of my mini journal. I finished it today. The journal as i said before is all about things i am and things i love. Todays page depicts the moors and heather. There is a kind of tranquility that is unique to moorland that takes my breath away. I love the moors best when its wilderness is unbroken and the wind is blowing through the grasses and heather ... nothing on earth is like it. I hope this page shows a little of that in colour and design.

The lady is dressed in a beautiful heathery colour so she was additional but the Background colours are spritzed on to show the colours of the moor grasses then I added some hand painted heather and grasses and then wet to blend and blur. The text is from a book of flowers and describes some of the ancient uses for heather. Once over heather was used to make sweeping brushes.
Everything else is inked and i added the 'moors' wording just to finish.

woyww & Mini Journal

I am currently working on a mini journal and have made three pages so far. Its called 'pieces of me' everything in it including the colours,images,numbers etc are pieces of me. For example the ' woman with child ' depicts me as a mother and grandmother and I have sung that song to all of my babies at one time or another. the numbers depict my 2 sons and my 7 grandchildren. And on other pages you can see i have a love of fairies (which i believed in for a very long time and am hanging on to that belief lol ) and butterflies. Many of the colours i am using depict 'Nature' which is another love of mine. I will post more pages up when they are done.

Also below are pics for the woyww which i have explained before ... i dont really have a work space but like to share just the same so these are some of my inks and stamps etc ... the journal is what i am currently working on too so that counts methinks :)

beautiful things

Since i am not really doing a lot of art lately. I thought i might as well share other things too. I took this picture yesterday of my pyramid of light. I chose it years ago while on a holiday in the lakes. Its a gorgeous glass pyramid that reflects light and sometimes casts it upon the surrounding walls etc. Can you also see the small reflection of the clouds in the sky on the bottom of the pyramid ? Isnt it interesting how we all see beauty in different things? I love crystal too and think its my passion for colour that draws me to such items.
What are your favourite things (not people ) and why ?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you all know why i havent been blogging as much as i would like and also explain that sometimes when i get chance i blog from my other account and you may not realize its me lol. The other account is
my Dezinaworld one. To save time I could move arty retreat and art freebies to the other account but my lovely blogging friend Susie Jefferson spent a lot of time and work on my layouts that i really dont want to do that and also it would be too complicated to move Art Freebies or vice versa.
I appreciate every single visit and comment here though and i try to respond to them all. I am following a lot of blogs and i try and visit when i can but due to the sheer volume of work on both the above mentioned blogs, i dont have a lot of time left. I love blogging and miss getting around to them all but do try very hard to recipricate when you pop by.
So please forgive me if i dont get round as much as i used to, and please look out for comments from my dezinaworld persona too. I do visit a few blogs each day depending on which blog i am working on.

I made this atc today using my new collage set
I used antique linen ink and edged with a darker distress ink. added the images etc. Its the first atc i have done in while and was nice to do. I am keeping the other images for cards as i always need something for male cards.

Door Hanger & Vintage Tag
I made this door hanger today using various techniques. I used Tim Holtz distress inks - spun sugar and walnut stain. and to further distress, I used my wood burning tool around edges to scorch. I stamped the words using Inkinado stamps and a couple of little flying creatures plus some flourishes to finish. I then added white gel pen to accent.

This vintage tag is for the prompt at Theme Thursday I just love vintage and couldnt wait to play

Hi all, please forgive me if i havent stopped by your blog yet ... I have been swamped with work plus had an odd week so am hoping over the weekend i can do a little blogging.

Well no crafting done for a while but thought i would join in with woyww this week. I dont have a craft room or a craft desk, I only have a craft cupboard and I craft in front of the tv with my little table lol but still i thought i would share so here ya go .... some parts of my cupboard.

Above - where i keep my alcohol inks,bottled inks,embossing powders,etc

Also on the top shelf i keep cosmic shimmers etc plus the box with alcohol inks and various cards and envelopes

Here i have boxes of buttons, brads,and assorted stuff. Also books and files for collage pieces and alterable bits

you can just see my tin box of punches to the left too. The jars above also hold bits and are screwed into the shelf

All the drawers hold clear and rubber stamps

You cant see all the inks here but there are a lot and then to the left you can just see a lot of wooden stamps too.

I made this tag for the 'anything goes ' blog . sparkle and shine is this weeks theme and its just my cup of tea :)

Background is painted and sprayed in glimmer mists and mica pigments then i added some faux stitching. and sparkly wings which you can just see, I decorated the lady with pink distress ink and sakura pens. The rest was done with inks and words etc and more faux stitches. Click for detail please )

Peel off revival

Well I knew they would come in handy one day so decided to play with the peel off heart pattern which is quite large and used it as a mask. I used a buff yellow card and placed the peel off then covered with distress ink and removed the peel off to use again some time.
Then added some holograph embossing powder for a shimmer. Then i used some double sided sticky foam letters and added some black and green fine glitters .
I used a green gingham paper on card for a layer beneath the heart piece and stamped faux stitching and distressed the edges. put it all together on a square card and love the way it looks but ........... My son has my camera so i had to scan this and its not a very good scan so you cant see how lovely and shimmery the dark embossed parts are. Anyway thought i would post just the same.

Ohhh i have gone all girly

Have had a funny old week, migraine headache and nothing seems to have gotten done until yesterday. Yesterday I got creative with these two using the 'Childrens Roundie set of collage sheet and png's from my Dezinaworld
Blog.
The first one I also used the gorgeous free stamp from this months 'Craft Stamper' magazine.I used antique linen and walnut stain distress inks and also added some 'sugar loaf' ink from whispers.I also added some black glitter to the middle of the flowers for a little touch of bling.
The second card is one I made using digital backgrounds and images from Dezinaworld
I would like to enter the second one into the OSAAT challenge which is ribbons and bows'.

Floral card in rust

Hi all, well i have been making a card for the challenges at Three Muses (rust ) and (floral) at Magical crafts
It took me a while with lots of mess but i did enjoy it.

The card base is inked and stamped with two shades of distress inks
The circle image is a sneak peek really as its from a new collage sheet i am releasing on friday Dezinaworld
its called children roundies collage sheet
The octagonal card has been covered with twinkling h2o's plus mica pigments and then edged with distress ink to give a kind of rusted look.
The roses have been inked and embossed and also have some mica in there too.

Torn Paper tag

For the Theme Thursday challenge I made this tag. I heat embossed ink with swirls of dry mica in three layers which set to a beautiful shimmery silver on deep red,then I added the image (from my dezinaworld collage sheets of course lol ) and then added clear ink and clear emboss over the whole image and heated to melt and finish. the shine is lovely over the image too. I stamped the background with matching ink. then stamped the saying with the same ink plus orange and purple and tore the paper and added to the tag. Finished with a little heart ribbon.

Its a funny old life

Hi all, sorry i havent been posting much but its been a funny week. Tuesday morning my hubby's work place had a big fire. The back of the laundry shop is terribly damaged and so we dont really know what will happen. Sam has been unable to go into work this week and the guy who owns the shop is not letting his staff know very much. He lives miles away and only just arrived yesterday. He speaks broken English so its hard to understand him at the best of times but at the moment all he is saying is that they still have their jobs but not seeming to do much, or say much else. Its frustrating to say the least ( oh well hope you all didnt mind my getting this off my chest )
On with the relevant stuff ....
I made this one using the new 'Blue Moon' collage set which includes png's. You can see work from my Design team ladies which is fantastic over at Dezinaworld where the set is for sale.

Messy Missy

Yep thats me, a proper messy missy today... well ya know how it is, you just have to get messy now and again and by gum i did for this piece.
The butterfly is a metal one which i altered with metallic pearl paint, copper pen and mica and then set. I threaded little pearly beads on some wire and attached to the butterly.
The background was covered in pva glue then i threw everything at it including, metallic pearly paints in pear and copper, i added alcohol inks (various ) also used some sprays and some mica pigments that are a pinky white and even a little yellow food colouring .... How messy is that !!!! but worth it as the colours are fab in the different lights they shimmer and shine beautifully. (Please click to enlarge for details )

Green as the forest

I made this card for fun today using a collage of stamped images,lots of spraying and inks and another one of my images. The little hearts are punched from a background i made a while back with paints,inks and embossing. I finally sprayed with a lustre laquer to brighten it. I was quite pleased with the outcome

Pretty postcard

Its a lovely warm sunday and i smell roast beef in the oven, yep hubby cooking hehe. I am just about to do some blogging rounds and have been a busy bee over at Dezinaworld with a Special Dollar Day with collage sheets and sets for just $1.00 all day today ....
AND, well i seem to finally have my mojo on side again and made this pretty postcard. I distressed the back of the postcard in antique linen and then stamped with walnut stain distress ink. Added some sakura and white gel pen touches. I then stamped the beautiful white flower and embossed in white.
I added the lovely Lace which i got from my wonderful good friend in Las Vegas, Ginny :) thanks Ginny. Then i added the image cut out from my Dezinaworld Personality Girls collage sheet and stuck it all down. Finally I used a wonderful sparkly glossy spray i found in the art shop last week and just sprayed all over with it.

i Sooooo feel like i am back hehe

finally a couple of cards

Well I had a lovely birthday Monday (check out birthday candy post if you want to win something ) and Tuesday i went shopping and got some new crafting goodies. So finally i went off to my craftroom and got some cards made... YES i did say cards lol. I know its not often but thought i must make one for dad for fathers day and chose cute for a complete change. And the second card i just wanted to experiment with my new stamps and some resist and some cosmic shimmer. Ohhh i had fun !! The blue cosmic shimmer was added last over the whole thing which i had masked the bottom half with some torn newspaper.

Ohhhh I am back

Well my pc has been playing up for a while as you may well know if you follow me :) but it finally packed in a couple of weeks ago so had to get a new hard drive which my son paid for as a birthday gift ( yep its my birthday tomorrow) I shall be 15 ( oops think that may be reversed ) Anyway ....I am back and glad to be here and hope to catch up a little but please be patient as i am sure it will take me ages lol. One good thing to come out of not having a pc ... I learned how to use the tv remote ( seriously i didnt know how)

Grandfather clock

I got this large grandfather stamp ages ago from my lovely friend Susan and its one of my favourite stamps but as i mainly do small art, i rarely have used it. Today though i decided it needed an airing so i got some black card and i stamped the clock in white ink then embossed in some brand new white embossing powder. I then sprayed the black card with my new gold irridecent spray and then dried. After that i sponged it all over with alcohol inks to give the coloured effect and mounted on a black card and attached tiny purple stones in the corner and wording which was alcohol inked too. I don't often do cards but thought this would make a nice card for male or female so was pleased with the result. I would like to add this to the OSAAT challenge which is something new. ... i used two new items (see above )

Beautiful gifts and some art

A wonderful package arrived to me all the way from Las Vegas. Inside carefully wrapped in beautiful tissue papers were the most exquisite lace pieces, vintage text and gorgeous lace doillies ( not sure of the spelling there ) Anyhow, these came from a wonderful special lady who i have met through blogging. Ginny is such a lovely friend and her blog is always so interesting, I also love her art work which you can see in the photograph as she sent me this beautiful atc too. Thanks so much Ginny. The items below are just some of this lovely package which included buttons and a lovely postcard as well as even more lace and crochet work.

Also over the last few days I have managed to create and here are the two pieces I made. The giraffe postcard i made for the lots to do challenge and scrunch /distress inked the background and added old stamps. The atc is just one i made for fun. The red haired man is painted with inks and a diamonte stud is added.I also used a piece of white paper doilly to the background.

Hi all, this one is the first piece i have been able to do for a while. Lol bet you didnt even notice i had gone hehe. I had problems with my pc and just got back today. So all back to normal now and i am posting a little atc I made on black card with background if paints and glimmer mists and the heart is texturized around the outside with 3d fluffy stuff dried and sprayed with glimmer mists
