Thursday 30 July 2009

Winged babe

I love this child's face and wanted to make something for this weeks challenge at Creative Designs
so i added some BLING which is what the challenge was about, by using some mirror card which i distressed with sandpaper and inked over the scratches and background in blues and greens. Also added some little gems to her hat for extra blingy effect :)

I got the image passed on to me and the wings are from my own collection at dezinaworld ( see link in sidebar for details ) I love how she turned out - the best thing tho is that expression hehe

Emmy & Elvis

I made this Elvis atc for the lots to do challenge. its my second acetate entry for this weeks challenge :)
The tag is Emmy my just released character HERE I am afraid my attempts at colouring dont get any better but keep practicing lol

Wednesday 29 July 2009

Papillion

The Lots to do challenge this week is acetate.

I chose to heat emboss this stamped butterfly and colour on the front with pens. On the back of it i added blotches of alcohol inks and then i stamped the same butterfly to my papillion atc which i had prepared and random inked.
I mounted the butterfly over the flat one with sticky dot and then stamped the eiffel tower.

Its hard to see very well on here but i really loved the sparkle the clear embossed black gave to the papillion .. it looks like water droplets and the colours really pop when you see it in different light. Thanks for the challenge ladies ... I had fun

I was really inspired by the garden theme at bubblyfunk and decided to make a piece for this one.

This is a collage using images, i have altered digitally. Then painted with acylics and and inks. Then used pale lavender ribbons and tied some dried lavender that i already has from earlier in the summer which i picked from my garden and then attached to the collage piece.

What a beautiful art piece

A little while ago I won a gorgeous art angel. I couldnt wait for it to arrive as it looked so beautiful. The Lovely Jackie over at The art in you created this precious piece. The angel doll is gorgeous and you can see it properly here as my camera didnt do it much justice i am afraid. But Jackie asked me to show her a pic of me with her and here is the pic.
Jackie, I have named her 'Peace' as she arrived at a time when i needed and got some peace and calm in my life.
thanks so much my friend, your art is beautiful

And one more - Velvet Girls

This is a transfer image piece on fabric atc. I used bottle green velvet and a linen over paper for the linen effect transfer. plus acrylic white and green ink. Added beads and abalone leaf plus brad

It was so nice to play with all the little bits and bobs today a little of everything and having posted earlier that makes it the most i have done in ages craft wise

To get the faded girls image this is what i did

Took a piece of linen type fabric. Covered with good covering of white acrylic paint. Placed image down into the wet paint. Used a brayer to roll over and press the image into the paint. The image transfers to both the card and the fabric. This print is on the card. The fabric one i have kept for another project. Both are faded but i love the look.

Back to crafting

I really needed to have some fun today so I thought i might try the crafts international challenge which is 'something old, something new'
Here is my card which has:
something old ... The blue ink i used is very old and nearly ready for the bin. I used it all up on the background

Something new .... The leaf stamp and the text stamp are both new and unused until today

Something borrowed ... The stickles i used on the dress and head dress is one i borrowed ages ago from my friend Jo and still have lol

Something Blue ... well the card is mainly blue but i used a blue ribbon through the centre of the lace as my something blue.
The wings are my own design.

UPDATE
I have to have some more blood tests and a treadmill test and possibly a camera into my stomach but doing much better. My grandaughter is nearly recovered from croup and my son is doing well and taking walks for excersize. All i need now is a few hours extra each day to catch up on all i need to do :)

Alice

An atc i made using an alice in wonderland image. text stamp. Butterfly and bottle by www.dezinaworld.com which is about to launch so please bookmark the site for some startling and NEW unseen collage images that will be available in a week or two

Oriental Encaustic

This is one i made on encaustic background. It was as often mine are, an experiment and an adventure. Could i combine the wax and alcohol inks on a background ? Could i use stazon ink on the wax and would it work ? How would i make an image stick to wax ?

Well .... I worked the pattern in wax then scraped my pattern. I then dabbed with alcohol ink and wiped which gave the lilac colour. Then i scraped more to give the white.
I then stamped the curly leaves in purple stazon. It dried and stayed.
Lastly how to stick my lovely oriental lady? ... Simple. I just heated the wax again with a heat gun and immediately pressed the image down into it and left to dry.

Hope you like my oriental experiment with wax
It is created for the Lots to Do challenge which was including a stamped image on your work.
